A question – Why do we want to play guitar?

  • Make a positive Impression on friends and family?
  • You received a guitar as a gift?
  • Opportunity(ies) to play at church
  • Opportunity(ies) to play lead guitar (…the SOLO stuff) – school, church, garage band?
  • Accompany yourself (you are a singer perhaps)
  • Special impending event; your wedding, friends wedding, funeral, anniversary?

I LOVE the Internet and self-study guitar/music books.
I LOVE both of these mediums and use them all the time for myself.

QUESTIONHave these media lost their effectiveness and fun for you?

Maybe you would benefit from a teacher?

If you are just starting out, or in the “intermediate” stage you may benefit from structured (regular) guitar instruction.

My rates :

$20/30 min. session

$30/45 min. session

$40/one-hour session

Looking for a Mentor?

Some guitarists have been playing for awhile and want to meet on a less “structured” schedule (less regular), and are primarily looking for advice, professional guidance, help with a song they’re working on, or need some ideas for the “big solo” looming on the horizon…?

Our first task is to have a conversation about YOUR GOALS, and desires.

My philosophy :

I insist upon a good fit between myself and another aspiring guitarist.

Any of my mentoring clients will hear more guitar playing, from me and from themselves, than talking about the subject; we will play A LOT, and still discuss what needs to be discussed.

  • LESS TALK, MORE MUSIC!
  • I will explain then play
  • give an opinion then PLAY
  • share an insight (and/or epiphany…it could happen?)…THEN PLLAAAYYY.
  • However I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU IN THE DARK with unanswered questions, I PROMISE

What I can offer:

  • Share many years of experience
  • Continued interest in growing – we may have that in common?
  • I am very active – practice every day;  perform solo and with various ensembles and like-minded musicians
  • While I can read and understand music notation/tablature, I have a really good “ear” and can assist with learning from recordings when there isn’t any sheet music available!
  • I love working with beginners
  • I love acoustic and electric equally

guitarbook_sm  We learn more from SEEING then DOING, than by hearing about the subject!!
